Safety, Health and Well-being at the World Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan
EXPO2025, Osaka, Japan will take place from April to October 2025 under the captivating theme "Designing Future Society for Our Lives." This theme, along with the Expo’s sub-themes of "Saving Lives," "Empowering Lives," and "Connecting Lives," fully aligns with the objectives of the Tokyo Declaration on Vision Zero for All, adopted in May 2022 at the Vision Zero Summit Japan. Consequently, the decision was made to launch a Global Initiative for Safety, Health, and Well-being at EXPO2025 and beyond (GISHW).
The goal of this new initiative is monumental: to improve the quality of work and life for the more than 8 billion inhabitants of our planet. To achieve this objective, we have invited leading international safety, health, and well-being organizations, networks, and professionals from around the world to join the Global Initiative. We are immensely grateful for the support received from these organizations and individuals, enabling us to form a unique multilateral partnership for safety, health, and well-being and to officially establish the GISHW in less than one year.
GISHW is proud to announce that for the first time in the history of the World Expo, Safety, Health and Well-being Days will form part of the official EXPO2025 programme, offering an unparalleled opportunity to orchestrate a series of events dedicated to safety, health and well-being that will resonate with the global audience attending the Expo in Osaka or engaging online.
Expo visitors and SHW experts from around the world will have the opportunity to enjoy six exciting activities: a Summit, a World Assembly, an ILO Youth Congress, an International Symposium, a Festival and a Theme Park/Exhibition.
Join the global Occupational Safety, Health, and Well-being Community for an exciting exchange about the future of prevention in a rapidly changing world of work. GISHW warmly invites you to join us in Osaka in July 2025 and to discover how you can contribute to building a safe, healthy and socially sustainable future society for our lives.
