Festival Opening Show: "The Legend of “AMANO-IWATO” 2025 ー The Return of the Sun"
Well-being story, woven by Gods and Robots
Inspired by the ancient Japanese myth of “AMANO-IWATO” — in which the sun goddess retreats into a cave, casting the world into darkness — this dynamic performance reimagines this tale through a contemporary lens. It envisions a future of well-being, emerging from the fusion of cutting-edge technology and enduring human values. The show also pays homage to the iconic Tower of the Sun from Expo '70 in Osaka.

The performance features the TriOrb omnidirectional robot, a nationally recognized Kagura troupe, and a solemn procession of deities donning traditional Kagura masks. Through synchronized projection, lighting, and sound, the story unfolds as a journey of collective wisdom and unity — a shared effort to restore the light. This immersive experience serves as a bridge between mythology and modernity, conveying a profound message of coexistence, renewal, and a collective pursuit of a sustainable, human-centered future.

Leading Edge of ”Cybernics” for Future Well-being Society
-fusion of Bio/Medical Systems and AI/Robot/Information Systems-
We are challenging ourselves to solve various issues facing a Super-Aging Society (diseases, functional decline due to aging, intractable diseases, child-rearing, etc.) by making full use of “Cybernics: the fusion of Humans, AI, Robots, and Information systems.”

We are working toward social change in order to realize a “Future Well-being Society” in which various issues related to the physical and mental aspects of life, such as medical/health care, physical functions, cognition, and psychology, as well as issues related to lifestyle and society, are solved, and the independence and freedom of diverse people are expanded.

In this talk, I will give an exciting presentation on the latest efforts in cybernics, which integrates the fields of biomedicine and AI, robotics, and information systems, including demonstrations using cybernics devices.

The symphony of humans and robots
-New ways of working to pioneer a future of well-being-
This session will introduce the future of work where humans and robots work together. A safer and more hopeful society where dangerous tasks are handled by robots and humans support them remotely is just around the corner.

What kind of future awaits us when robots collaborate with humans instead of taking our jobs? What kind of inclusive environment can everyone, including people with disabilities, the elderly, and parents raising children, work regardless of location, time, or ability?

At the end of this journey through the past, present, and future of work, you will find a remote society where we can work with joy, freedom, excitement, fun, and growth.
