The ILO’s Youth Congress on “Designing Safety, Health and Well-being at Work in the Digital Age” aims to raise awareness, particularly among young people, of their rights to safe and healthy work and promote action to achieve it.

This youth-centred initiative, spanning 2024-2026, consists of a series of participatory actions by youth. At the GISHW Youth Congress, the Call to Action (CTA) submitted by selected youth teams are presented to the competition and discussed at the high-level panel. The awarded CTA will be implemented by the buy-in companies/organizations. The CTAs adopted by enterprises or organisations will be presented at the 24th World Congress on Health and Safety at Work in 2026.
This event aims to raise awareness and build capacity of young workers on their right to safe and healthy working environment as an element of Business and Human Rights. Moreover, it will contribute to the realization of sustainable society through decent work, by the improvement and promotion of OSH of the entire workplace and business through the concrete actions in enterprises and organizations engaging young workers. More than 40 groups of youth from Japan and oversea countries will participate in this big event.
